Objective: Based on the theory of "one depression and three stagnations" in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the empirical formula "Xiaoluo Sini San" from a master's experience was selected to observe its clinical efficacy and safety in treating thyroid nodules. The study also aimed to analyze the mechanism of the formula, highlighting the unique advantages of TCM in treating thyroid nodules, and to provide relevant clinical research data for TCM treatment of thyroid nodules.
Methods: This study primarily focused on clinical observation. It is expected to collect and statistically analyze data from patients diagnosed with thyroid nodules between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2025. Considering individual differences, patients who had repeated visits, changed treatment plans, discontinued visits, or had short treatment durations were excluded. During the follow-up period, some patients might not return for re-evaluation, leading to potential errors in clinical observation. To avoid such errors, these patients were excluded, ensuring that sufficient case data were collected to minimize data variability. Ultimately, a total of 236 eligible patients were included. The collected data were divided into two groups: one experimental group treated primarily with TCM using "Xiaoluo Sini San" as the main therapy, and one control group that received no pharmacological intervention, focusing instead on conservative treatment and lifestyle modifications. The treatment duration was 24 weeks. The study observed the effects of "Xiaoluo Sini San" on the number of thyroid nodules, the maximum diameter of the largest nodule, and thyroid function before and after treatment. Both groups did not receive any additional treatments. The effectiveness, safety, and mechanisms of "Xiaoluo Sini San" were analyzed through TCM syndrome analysis. The data were primarily analyzed using SPSS statistical software.
