(2) In terms of the improvement rate of dysphagia, the results of the DVDMS-PDT group were also significantly better than those of the TPC group, and the improvement rate was numerically similar to that of concurrent chemoradiotherapy in previous studies [7], and slightly higher than that of Photofrin-mediated PDT [10]. Additionally, this study included patients who were unsuitable for radiotherapy, refused radiotherapy, or had failed radiotherapy, suggesting that even when other palliative treatments are ineffective or not tolerated, DVDMS-PDT can still serve as an effective palliative treatment option.
