(3) MICT and HIIT Improve Skeletal Muscle Fiber Structure in db/db Mice: HE staining images revealed that the muscle fibers in the NC group were dense and orderly; compared to the NC group, the muscle fibers in the DC group were sparse and disorganized. After 10 weeks of exercise intervention, both the HIIT and MICT groups showed improved muscle fiber density and reconstruction of complete muscle bundle structures. Images were collected under a 200x light microscope, and the cross-sectional area (CSA) of skeletal muscle fibers was analyzed using ImageJ software. Compared to the NC group, the CSA in the DC group significantly decreased (P<0.001). Compared to the DC group, the CSA in the MICT group significantly increased (P<0.05), and the CSA in the HIIT group also significantly increased (P<0.05). Compared to the MICT group, the CSA in the HIIT group significantly increased (P<0.05).
